The Illicini Beach & Pool Club is for couples looking for
a different wedding - something completely out of the ordinary -
something very natural, relaxing and fun - but with beautiful
and wonderful surroundings. It is five acres of
seaside park land and beaches sitting on a glorious natural peninsula at
the foot of the high Maratea mountains. Its beaches
are protected by the small islands Matrella & Santojanni which sit just
of few yards off the club - and which provide a romantic setting for
sunning or picnics. nearby are the fairly tale town of
Maratea and its historic fisherman's harbour - the Porto di
Maratea. Each providing a range of cafe's, stores, and
restaurants. Further north is the market town of Sapri with its
many stores and convenient main line rail station.
Wedding groups are assigned a private and cordoned off
section of the park.
Scattered over the park are a number of small beach cottages
housing 10 very nice rooms, each with private bathrooms. All
rooms are air conditioned. Each one is just a few yards from the sea,
and all have beautiful views. In addition to a large pool, table tennis, and water
activities, the club offers a casual snack bar and bar.
However, the primary activity is simply chilling out and partying (or
not) in a very natural, very beautiful environment.
Directly next to Illicini
(200 yards away, overlooking the sea) is Villa-Marina
providing additional accommodations for another 20+ persons.
Several hundred yards away is Hotel Martino.
